- Initiation Program

Description: This program is designed to meet needs of the beginning player. Basic skills will be taught in a non-competitive environment. Fun, physical development and a social environment are stressed.
Ages: 3-7
Practices: Once
per week, typically early Saturday morning.
Season length: Early
October - February
Games: No
organized competitive games are involved however some
fun games may be organized by the coaches from time to time.
Travel: None
Equipment required: Skates,
Helmet, Stick - recommended: shin guards, elbow pads,
gloves (mittens OK at this level).

- House Program

Description: This program is designed to provide opportunities to play for enjoyment, fitness, relaxation, and fellowship. Skill development and team concepts are stressed rather than winning.
Ages: 8 and under.
Practices: Twice
per week, typically a weeknight
Season length: Early
October - February
Games: Competitive
house games are typically held every week.
Travel: None.
Equipment required: Skates,
Helmet, Stick, shin guards, elbow pads, gloves, hockey
pants, recommended - shoulder pads.

Description: This program is designed for players who have the desire and ability for a competitive experience.
Balance of winning and sportsmanship is stressed, and travel for competition should be reasonable. Players will be selected from the House Program after the start of the House Program season.
Ages: 8 and under.
Practices: Twice
per week, typically a weeknight
Season length: Early
October - February
Games: Competitive

- Travel / Snowbelt Programs
-
Description: A 'Highly
Competitive' program for boys and girls divided into four
age groups, known as Squirts, Pee-Wees, Bantams and Midgets. Two
leagues, called Travel and Snowbelt are typically involved. Levels of play differ slightly among
the leagues however all are very close highly competitive leagues. Placement
is determined by tryouts held in mid September. Skaters who do not try
out are generally placed in the Snowbelt league. Checking begins at the
Pee-Wee level.
Ages:
- Squirts 9-10
- Pee-Wee 11-12
- Bantams 13-14
- Midgets 15-18
Practices: Twice
per week, typically a weeknight
Season length: Typically
24 weeks starting mid / late Sept.
Games: Typically a minimum of 24 per season (2-3 per week).
Travel: Ithaca, Binghamton, Cortland, Syracuse, and beyond.
Equipment required: Skates,
Helmet, Stick, shin guards, elbow pads, gloves, hockey
pants, cup, shoulder pads.
